The Route
We try to vary it every week but it’s usually around 10km at varying paces so it’s inclusive for people of all abilities as opposed to exclusive and only for faster runners. We upload the route to Facebook on Monday or Tuesday of every week.

Meet the Team

Chris Wight
Chris grew up in the outdoors: from tennis in his back garden to running at a high level with school. After a break from the sport, running became a large part of Chris’s life again in 2006 when he finished the Dublin marathon in 3:07 despite ‘poor training and a terrible diet’. Returning to Australia a year later, his interest switched to ultra distance trail running. For the next six years Chris chalked up impressive wins in Australia and overseas. In 2012, running became not only his passion but his profession when he left his job in engineering. He joined The Running Company in Geelong before moving to Clifton Hill. Proficient on the road and on trails, he finished fourth in the Great Ocean Road Marathon and in 2015 won the Alpine Challenge 100 Mile Race, pulverising the previous record by two hours.

1. Favourite run
Daily loop along the trails beside the Yarra River.
2. Best Running Moment
Alpine Challenge 2015. Just one of those days when everything worked to the point that it felt easy. You don’t get many of those.
3. What do you love about running?
Its simplicity and long Sunday runs with friends.

Nathan Shearer
Up until early 2013, Nathan describes himself as ‘fat, albeit a good cricketer’. Taking up swimming, biking and running he made a rapid progression into triathlon to the point of winning the age group category at Ironman New Zealand in early 2016.  He’s passionate about all things triathlon and specifically running and is a self-confessed ‘sneaker head’ – both running and casual shoes.  When not in store he can be found lurking at local cafes around Melbourne in his lycra, drinking flat whites and eating exceptional pastries of all denominations.

1. Favourite run
The long loop, Ewan Maddock Dam, Sunshine Coast.
2. Best Running Moment
Completing my first 5km run without stopping in 2012.
3. What do you love about running?
The freedom (cliche – but it’s true!) that it affords you, and the ease of that freedom – put some shoes on and just go.
